Funded in part through NYSERDA and supported by the New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Nanoelectronics and Nanomaterials (CATN2), iCLEAN serves clean energy, nanotechnology, biotechnology and cyber physical system technology startups and established companies to transition innovation to commercial success by supporting each phase in the research, development and deployment continuum.
Leveraging CNSE’s industry-compliant advanced manufacturing facilities, faculty and engineering teams, and a nanotechnology eco-system of over 300 industry partners, iCLEAN offers unmatched incubation support. Over the past seven years, the CATN2’s iCLEAN Incubator has assisted 50+ clean energy companies raise $275,099,215 in private investment, receive $75,260,887 in public investment, and generate $80,587,673 in revenue and continue to sustain 156 jobs in the region.
The iCLEAN Incubator established the New York Business Plan Competition (NYBPC) in 2010 as a venture creation and innovation competition to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship throughout New York’s colleges and universities. Since 2010, more than 2,500 students have participated in the NYBPC, more than 100 businesses have been started, and the NYBPC has seeded over $1M yielding over $20M in additional funding for these companies.

Founded in 2023 on Long Island, Chirality Biosciences develops proprietary technology addressing chiral separation to produce high-purity active pharmaceutical ingredients with an aim to reduce drug side effects.

IMAGING SOLUTION

MantaPoole Technologies is developing a roll-to-roll, manufactured, active multispectral light field (AMLF) micro-optics architecture for applications including autonomous surgery, industrial manufacturing, robotic farming, and real time robot vision. Plenoptics 3.0 enables smart machines to capture both spectral and depth information without compromising image quality, allowing them to identify an object’s composition, shape, and location.
